Pau D'Arco Tea

Pau D’Arco is made from the inner bark of the Tabebuia Avellanedae or Tabebuia Impetiginosa tree, often better known as Taheebo or Lapacho. This evergreen tree grows in the great rainforests of Central and South America. It has been used as a medicinal plant for hundreds of years by the indigenous people of the Americas, almost certainly predating the ancient Incas and Aztecs. Although the powerful healing properties of this bark were known to many of the first Spanish and Portuguese invaders of the Americas it has only been ‘re-discovered’ in relatively recent times here in the ‘West’.
