Coconut Oil - What is it?

Coconut oil is extracted from the meat inside matured coconuts harvested from the coconut palm (Cocos Nucifera). Throughout the tropical world it has provided the primary source of fat in the diets of millions of people for generations.
Coconut oil has a high saturated fat content, together with animal fats, this has attracted many articles giving coconut oil a bad name. However most people have failed to realise that just as there are different types of un- saturated fats there are also different types of saturated fats.

Coconut oil contains medium to short chain saturated fats that the body can use far easier than the long chain saturated fats like those found in animal fat and lard; coconut oil is in fact far more healthy than olive oil.

Coconut Oil - Benefits.

The reported health benefits of coconut oil include hair care, skin care, stress relief, maintaining cholesterol levels, weight loss, increased immunity to various bacterial, viral and fungal infections including yeast infections, better digestion and metabolism, relief from some kidney problems and heart diseases. Some say it helps to alleviate high blood pressure, diabetes, HIV, and increase bone strength. These benefits of coconut oil can be attributed to the presence of lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid, and its properties such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, soothing, etc

Coconut Oil does not contain cholesterol. It does not increase blood cholesterol levels. It does not promote platelet stickiness which can lead to blood clot formation. It does not contribute to atherosclerosis or heart disease. It does not promote cancer or any other degenerative disease. It can help protect against skin cancer and other blemishes. It does not contribute to weight problems. Helps keep skin soft and smooth, is thought to prevent premature aging and wrinkling of the skin.

The human body converts lauric acid into monolaurin which is claimed to help in dealing with viruses and bacteria causing diseases such as herpes, influenza, cytomegalovirus, and even HIV.

Coconut oil helps to fight off harmful bacteria (such as listeria monocytogenes and heliobacter pylori) and harmful protozoa (such as giardia lamblia). This is why coconut oil has and still is widely used in the traditional Indian medical system and is starting to be used more and more in western cooking and medicine.

Coconut oil is often preferred by athletes and body builders and by those who are dieting. Coconut oil contains fewer calories than other oils, its fat content is easily converted into energy and it does not lead to accumulation of fat in the heart and arteries. Coconut oil will provide an immediate boost of energy and endurance.

If all theses claims are true we should all add coconut oil to our diet everyday. Bobby has a teaspoon a day, the adults have a tablespoon. We cook with it and also make the healthiest “margarine” in the world with it.

Coconut Oil - Direction For Use.

Take 250g of coconut oil and brown 1 chopped onion in the oil in a frying pan for 4 to 5 mins.
Add 5 to 10 chopped cloves of garlic to the pan and heat for no more than 3 mins.
Strain the mixture into 125ml of flaxseed oil in a bowl.
Mix together and allow to set in the fridge.

We keep it in the fridge and take just what we need to the table.

Your label states a Premium raw oil, but as this is a cold pressed oil, this is misleading. Premium grade refers to a centrifuged oil not cold pressed.

Your assumption is totally incorrect our Coconut is NOT cold pressed but a premium grade raw oil as stated on the label.
