How Is Our Water Distilled?
We distill our water using steam distillation. This distilling process relies on the principle that most solid materials found in water are heavier than the water molecules themselves.
1. All our water is filtered (to take out the big bits) and then placed in the stainless steel kettles of our distillers.
2. The water is boiled off, so that it all turns to steam.
3. This steam rises through the top of the distiller into stainless steel pipes, leaving behind all the dissolved solids and contaminants in the kettle.
4. These stainless steel pipes are cooled by a fan condensing the steam back into water which drips down the pipe into glass containers.
5. This distilled water is then bottled in High Density (HDPE) plastic bottles to prevent any leeching of chemicals from the plastic into the water. These bottles and all of our distillers are frequently cleaned using Hydrogen Peroxide, which breaks down into water and oxygen leaving behind no contaminants.
